Nazarbayev University

Nazarbayev University (NU) is a research-oriented university founded in 2010 in Astana. It follows international academic standards, collaborates with partner institutions worldwide, and teaches in English — hosting a diverse, international academic community.

For a General Assembly, that means everything in one place: modern lecture halls and seminar rooms for plenaries and sessions, accommodation, and food — all within walking distance, in a safe area of the city reachable by public transport and taxi.

  • English-speaking campus
  • Modern conference facilities
  • Everything on one campus

Getting there

Fly into Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (NQZ) — the recommended arrival point. Three ways to cover the last stretch to campus:

Official transfers

The Organizing Committee provides airport transfers on 1 August (welcoming day) and 7 August (departure day) — the recommended option for smooth arrival.

Bus No. 10

The budget option outside transfer hours: bus No. 10 runs from the airport to Nazarbayev University.

Ride-hailing apps

Trusted apps show the fare in advance, let you track the ride, and accept card or cash.

Yandex GoUberinDrive

Avoid unofficial taxi drivers at the airport or on the street — for safety and pricing reasons. If you need help with transportation, the organizing team is happy to assist.

Find your way

The campus, the airport, the railway station, the closest mall, and the hospital — everything within one taxi ride.

Where you'll sleep
